In 2011 and 2012 we held the Great Gulf Turtle Race!

Both events gave the public and sponsors a chance to follow their favourite turtles on a race around the Gulf to see who would travel the furthest in a limited period of time. It also gave the opportunity for followers to vote cheer on their favourite turtle to win the popularity contest.

2011 saw Speedy romp home with a total distace travelled of 670 km and Amal gain 1844 votes to be the most popular.

In 2012, the winner of the race was Murjana travelling a total of a massive 1343 km and the title of most popular turtle went to Laura Bora, with an incredible 61,187 cheers!
